God has a plan for us in 2021
Wife called me up one fine day (23rd June 2020) to send her resume and other documents for an interview.
The next day, she excitedly told me she was interviewed through ZOOM application and offered a place in a medical centre overseas.
I was left in confusion, excitement and full of anxiety. Moving to Adelaide next year? Wow!
I was handed few forms and documents to fill up, on Wife's behalf.
1. English requirement (IELTS) - Wife actually prepared for her English exams in a week!
2. First degree and Postgraduate degree validation in EPIC by ECFMG - I took a month to read all the documents and eventually needed Wife's collegue's help to proceed on. Total cost incurred was USD$335. First degree was verified in 1.5 months but postgraduate degree took far longer (3 months).
3. Australian Medical Council portfolio application is the easiest part and it cost AUD544.86.
4. Paper works (AMMC-30 and ALPS-30) were difficult to fill and required Wife's friends to help out. The forms filling up process took me another 1.5 months to complete and finally sent online for processing in AHPRA website. Employer was very helpful in answering all our queries promptly. A police check on Wife's criminal history by AIS cost AUD$79.86. Copies of certificates needed to be certified by Notary public and total costs incurred was RM500.
5. Recently, AUD$1622 for ALPS-30 registration fees was credited from bank account.
Simple paperworks easily cost more than ten thousand ringgits!
As dreadful year 2020 almost coming to an end, we were looking enthusiastically towards year 2021.
